Special task force (Operation Safe Haven) in jos plateau state, has conducted a series of raid operations on criminaL and cultists hideouts and dens in jos metropolis.
The suspected criminals and cultists who were paraded at the office of the Operations at Jishe, Jos, were twenty-seven cultists and their associates including six females.
Most of the suspects were arrested at peoples and tripple hotels in apata, westside, rukuba road, jenta adamu and jenta miango areas all within the Jos metropolist.
The suspects also include a number of drug barons who were also arrested but handed over to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for futher actions.
The task Force said it for took this necessary steps based on the recent upsurge in cult related crimes on the plateau in Order to make citizens enjoy relative peace.
the task force assured citizen of their commitment toward maintaining peace and Unity saying, “we shall remain relsolute to our mandate of resoration and maintenance of peace on the plateau.
we shall continue to get rid of kidnappers, cultists and other enemies of the state. there shall be no hiding place for the kidnappers and other criminally minded people this time around.
citizens are encouraged to continue to provide useful information on criminals to enable us carry out our duties effectively”
Meanwhile, one of the arrested cultists members who was seen with his fingers chopped said, “rival group cut my hand”
One of the arrested females Promise Monday claimed she knows nothing about cultism, but she got arrested alongside her boyfriend.
Another arrested cultists member, Jerry Joseph on his part, narrated that he joined the group because of smoking.
Joseph said, “ i am a tipper driver, twelve tire, if I had not gone into smoking of cigarettes, I wouldn’t have met those who initiated me into this. I…I…I re..gret it!” said Joseph.
