Bulus Sanda has described the abandoned Rock International Hotel Jos, “as a replica of the famous Sheraton Hotel in the FCT”.
In a write-up posted on his verified Facebook handle titled “An abandoned towering structure in Jos”
Sanda who expressed concern over the development said, the hotel which is located at Shere hills around Lamingo in Jos North Local Government Area of the State, “is yet to see better days. Standing alone in front of a large lake but surrounded by captivating and beautiful rock formations”
According t him, “ Roc international Hotel is unarguably the best that Jos is yet to have”
Recalled that, the hotel was a part of Development initiative brought about by the late Solomon Lar’s government which awarded the contract of the hotel in 1981 to the Flemingdon Dev. (Nig) Limited with the aim of building a five Star hotel.
The five star Hotel has design with 318 rooms on completion which has the capability to draw investors and burst the revenue stand of plateau but However, 35 years down the line, with now 280 rooms constructed, the hotel has seen 12 different governors attempting to complete it without success.
