Department of State Services has invited a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Obadiah Mailafia, to appear in its Jos office on Wednesday (today) at 12noon.
This is just as groups in the Middle Belt have begun to mobilise support for him.
This mediumlearnt that the groups would be at the Jos office of the DSS to demand safety for Mailafia as he honours the security agency’s invitation today.
Mailafia’s invitation by the DSS followed an interview he granted an Abuja radio station, 95.1fm early this week.
Confirming his invitation, he said, “Yes, it true. The DSS invited me to appear in their Jos office tomorrow (Wednesday) by noon.”
He had alleged in the interview that repentant terrorists told him that a serving northern governor was the Boko Haram leader.
Mailafia, who was the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the 2019 election, also alleged that terrorists moved weapons even during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Meanwhile, several Middle Belt groups are mobilising their members to storm the DSS headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, where the secret security agency has invited Mailafia to appear today at 12:00noon.
It is said that the Middle belt groups will be at the DSS office in Jos to demand that nothing untoward should happen to Mailafia.
